Commercial project alongside Ashley Poston and Penguin Random House US, with the goal of creating an illustration of the main characters, to be featured on the cover design. A whimsical romance surrounded by books, tea, cats and magic!

The initial brief was to showcase the characters in front of a window and feature a frame design around the edges.
I explored some details that were shared with me, regarding the relationship dynamic, and came up with 4 concepts for us to discuss

V2 being the favorite, i made adjustments to the character designs, reworked the frame, and added requested elements, such as the books and cats.
AD felt like it might be too crowded, so we turned one cat into the star of the show.
We explored color combinations and made sure the composition was locked in.

The process continued as I polished the render and added details.
Once we were satisfied with the quality, Ashley still felt like some movement was missing...the solution we found was adding a piece of his cape blowing in the background, tying together with the flow of the petals.
