THREADS OF POWER CARDS
COMMERCIAL / 2025
This was a commercial project, with the purpose of creating advertisement material for the September 2023 release The Fragile Threads of Power by V.E. Schwab. They feature characters from previous books as well as new ones, as a way of fleshing out dynamics and bring nostalgia.

Once we had decided on the composition (frame 2) I went back to the sketch and cleaned up + made some requested adjustments (frame 1).

As usual, I played around with gradient maps (frame 3) before getting started on the flat colors (frame 4). Most of the colors were decided based on previous knowledge of the character, such as plot information and what gave the feel of the workplace-- a trinket shop.

As revisions went on I refined and cleaned up the scene

In the finished version we see other elements being incorporated in order to give more depth and make the scene more dynamic (such as blooming effects, etc).
